Waging Peace: The Human Face Behind Hostile Borders

Ed once snuck illicitly into Russia to deliver medicine to Chechens displaced by war and loosened three teeth diving out a window to escape a soldier during the Rwandan genocide. Taliban officials placed a US$50,000 bounty on his head after his visit there in 1998. Described as "one of the scariest good guys you're ever going to meet". Per an article by Ron Wright, "He is a modern-day knight. His valiant steed is an airplane or truck, his armor a bulletproof vest and his sword a cellular telephone. The hospital, the orphanage and the refugee camp are his field of battle.”

BIOGRAPHY:
Sir Edward Artis, along with cofounder Dr Sir James Laws and Sir Walt Ratterman are members of a SELF STYLED ORDER of the Knights of Malta and members of the OSMTH / Templar Knights (www.OSMTH.org). Knightsbridge International (www.kbi.org) is a very small California based humanitarian relief organization that provides millions of dollars worth of food, medicine and shelter to people in need in some of the most hard to get to and dangerous locations throughout the world. Afghanistan, Albania, Cambodia, Chechnya, Kosovo and the most recently the Southern Philippines are just a few of the locations where Knightsbridge has participated in significant relief efforts in partnership with several other NGOs, including Partners International, OSMTH / The Templar Knights, Afghanistan Relief Organization and The Buddhist Compassion and Relief Tzu Chi Foundation from Taiwan and the US.

Knightsbridge International is currently preparing to send relief materials into Iraq where they will, subject to funding, be personally delivering between 10 and 14 million dollars worth of life saving medicines to a network of already existing hospitals and clinics with the assistance of the Washington Kurdish Institute and other well established and US Treasury Department and State Department approved organizations.
