Most people in third world countries are working in agriculture. They need help to reduce their labor, provide better food for better health and increase their income. Many people are hungry and/or suffering from malnutrition and there is no excuse for that. They have land, water and labor; all they need is knowledge. Ken trains gardeners and farmers (urban and rural) in organic, no-till, permanent-bed agriculture. These methods have been used since 2000 BC in Guatemala, Mexico and many other countries and require no outside inputs: no inorganic fertilizers, no hybrid seed, no insecticides, no herbicides, no pesticides, no fungicides, no machinery. This workshop includes information on permanent beds, double digging, no-till gardening (no technique yet devised by mankind has been anywhere near as effective at halting soil erosion and making food production truly sustainable as no-tillage), moveable pens for livestock over permanent beds growing forages, marketing of farm products, bucket drip irrigation, growing on steep hillsides, and winter production.
