Addressing the Children's Traumas

This workshop will be exploring the small, but powerful, adjustments that have been made and can be introduced to serve the children in impoverished situations. The program will have three areas of study. It will begin with an overview of what has worked for NGO’s dedicated to restoring well being to children in villages, refugee camps, and urban settings impacted by poverty, displacement, armed conflict and/or natural disasters. The second focus will be on the nature of trauma and resiliency and what made those successful interventions work so well. Finally, the program will engage the participants in envisioning possible small adjustments that will serve today’s most needy children and give them the opportunity to live a purposeful life.
