Women and Energy: The Importance of Incorporating Women into Development Projects

Throughout the world, women play a central role in household energy use. Appropriate technology development projects could greatly improve women's lives. However, traditional methods of development do not take women's economic needs into account, and do not integrate women into projects. This workshop will show the importance of bringing women into the development process, because when women have access to new technologies and funding, not only do their standards of living improve, but also that of their families and the community as a whole.
