Advancing Sustainability Through Innovative Approaches

The StEPP process begins with outreach to generate novel project ideas into the StEPP Project Pipeline (‘Project Pipeline’). Written project concepts are submitted online through StEPP’s website (www.steppfoundation.org) by public, private or non-profit entities who seek funding. This information permits a review panel to make decisions on the environmental return on investment and the capability of the proposed implementation team to produce a novel and successful outcome. Projects that pass this initial screening are available in the Project Pipeline, giving the StEPP Foundation access to a collection of proposed novel projects with measurable environmental benefits to match with funding sources. The Project Pipeline is designed to provide a selection of fundable projects that could be implemented as appropriate funds become available. Over time, successful projects will increase the number of clean energy, energy efficiency and pollution prevention alternatives that are witnessed everyday by the public. Many solutions and innovations currently exist that could significantly improve our energy security while improving air quality, water quality and land quality. The StEPP Foundation invests and leverages funds towards environmentally beneficial projects. The Project Pipeline can match potential projects against specific negotiated criteria, or provide a selection of project ideas that could guide negotiations.
