Sustainable Micro Enterprise Development

This lecture is an introduction to the concept of sustainable micro enterprise development based on the systems approach of clustering related micro enterprises to totally eliminate waste, create more jobs and economic viability and protect the local culture. These system development concepts were developed (jointly) to help people in the early stages of economic development avoid aspects of western business models (worshiping economies of scale, exploitation of people and natural resources) that could do serious harm to the people, their villages, culture, and environment. The people in Pune, India are beginning to develop numerous micro enterprises thanks to the very successful micro credit program Dr. Salam started there over 15 years ago (subject of another lecture at this conference). Jon R. Schulz is a director of the Sustainable Futures Society and certified ZERI practioner. Dr. Abdul Salam is founder and Director of HELPO Foundation in Pune, India and HELPO International.
