Sustainable Resources initiated new projects and collaborations
Boulder
Biodiesel and Gaviotas
The Boulder and CU biodiesel programs met Paolo Lugari from Gaviotas,
Colombia during the SR3 conference. As a result, a team traveled to Colombia
and established a biodiesel plant. The biodiesel will be used to transport
bottled water from Gaviotas to Bogota. The water is a result of a regenerated
rain forest, produced and bottled with only renewable energy sources.
All of the revenue from the water sales go toward creating more rain forest
and a resulting aquifer increase.
